Privacy policy

The Soup Spoon Cafe ("we" or "us") runs this website at soupspooncafe.com. This policy explains what information we collect here, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

• Catering and event requests. When you send a quote request, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email, phone number, event details and notes. We use it to answer your request and plan your order.
• Job applications. Our employment application is hosted by Wufoo, an online form service. We use what you submit to review your application.
• Calls and emails. If you call or email us, we use what you share to help you.

Ordering, reservations and gift cards

Online ordering, reservations and gift cards are provided by Toast, Inc. on Toast's own pages. When you use them, Toast collects the details needed to complete your order or booking, including payment information, under Toast's privacy policy. We receive the order, reservation and contact details we need to serve you. We don't receive your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising.

• Google Analytics shows us which pages people visit and which buttons they use, such as Order, Reserve, Call and Directions. It records things like device and browser type, approximate location and pages viewed. It doesn't tell us who you are.
• Google Ads tells us when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to call us or request a quote. We don't use this site's data to show you personalized ads.
• Security and spam protection. Our security tools record IP addresses and similar technical details to block attacks, and Cloudflare Turnstile may check that logins and form submissions come from a person.
• Maps. Pages with a map load it from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies. This site does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

How we use and share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the restaurant and this site, such as Toast, Google, our email and form providers and our web host, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep request and application details as long as we need them to respond and for normal business records. Google Analytics data for this site is kept for 14 months.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

To ask what information we have about you, or to have us correct or delete it, email info@soupspooncafe.com or call (517) 316-2377.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use our website. We built it with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA in mind: it works with a keyboard, supports screen readers, uses readable text and color contrast, and respects your device's reduced-motion setting. We check it with automated tools and by hand, and we keep improving it.

Online ordering, reservations and gift cards run on Toast's pages, which Toast maintains.
